How The Prediction League Works

Post by theAdmin »

Points Awarded

5 points - If you predict the correct score

3 points - If you predict the correct result but not the correct score (e.g you predict H&Y to win and they do)

1 point - For each H&Y goalscorer. You may predict up to four goalscorers, if you predict more, the first four will be used. You will receive one point for each goal your goalscorers score, including own goals! So, a hatrick for one of your goalscorers earns you 3 points.

5 points - If you predict the exact attendance. This can be awarded to multiple participants.

3 points - If you predict the closest but not-exact attendance. This can be awarded to multiple participants.

Abandoned and postponed matches: All entrants get one point only, for entering. No points for the score, scorers or attendance.

If a match goes to extra time, the score and scorers at the end of extra time and before any subsequent penalties will be used.

Making A Prediction

You need to be registered on the forum to post a prediction. You can register by clicking on “Login” and then “Register”.

All First team matches except friendlies covered. Any registered user can start a thread for an upcoming match, you’ll probably get there before I do.

It is assumed the home team’s goals are first and the away team’s second unless clearly stated otherwise. For example 0-3, if H&Y are away, is taken as a H&Y victory prediction.

Cutoff: Entries must be submitted before or at the scheduled kick-off time. Time is taken from the forum’s timestamp. Any late entries will be discarded.

One entry per forum participant per match. If you make more than one, your latest entry before cutoff will be used.

Other Information

Scores and attendance are taken from hyufc.com.

No official prize short of the glory of being top of the league. I may come up with some token prize for the winner before the end of the season.
